Your Roofer for Bellevue, PA Homes
When you need roofing in Bellevue, PA, our shop at 500 Perry Highway is about 2.6 miles by car from the center of the borough. Bellevue is a small borough of about 1.1 square miles on the Ohio River in Allegheny County, served by the Northgate School District. Being this close means we can look at a leak, a sagging gutter or a storm damaged section soon after you call, instead of fitting you in after a long drive.
Bellevue roofs ask for a little more than a typical suburban house. The borough was incorporated in 1867 and counts more than 1,000 buildings over 100 years old, so many homes still have built in box gutters, tall brick chimneys and steep roofs with dormers. Our Bellevue jobs reflect that: a new Atlas roof in Black Shadow with silicone coated box gutters, an Atlas roof in Burnt Hickory, and work on an old storefront. Every project starts with a free inspection and a written estimate.

Roofing Older Bellevue Homes
Bellevue sits between Avalon, Ross Township and the Brighton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh, with the Ohio River on its southwest side. A 2016 inventory by the borough's community development group, Bona Fide Bellevue, counted more than 2,600 buildings, and over 730 of them were approved locally as historic. Houses such as the Andrew Bayne House from 1875, now the library, show how far back the borough's building stock goes. On homes this age, the roof and the gutters are often one system, and we treat them that way.
Box gutters
Many older Bellevue houses have box gutters built into the roof edge instead of hung on the fascia. When the lining fails, water runs into the wall. On our May 2026 job we sealed the box gutters with a silicone coating as part of the new roof.
Brick chimneys
Both of our Bellevue roofs had brick chimneys, and the 2026 house had two. We check the flashing and the brick where each chimney meets the roof and replace worn flashing before the new shingles go on.
Steep roofs and dormers
Tall hipped roofs, gables and dormers mean more valleys and wall joints. Those seams get new underlayment and flashing, not just the open field of shingles.
Tight lots
Houses here sit close together on narrow streets. We plan the dumpster, ladders and cleanup around the neighbors, and we send drone photos so you can see the roof as the work moves along.
What Our Customers Tell Google
Google reviews, copied word for word.
“ They put covers over my box gutters, and flushed them out. The workers were polite and showed me a before and after picture of their work. ”
Marlene Washington
“ Malick brothers made quick and impressive work of our 150-year old colonial. We had an urgent need to get it done fast - and they delivered. We had very high expectations of quality - and they knocked it out of the park. The crews were excellent and respectful, and the communication throughout the process was second to none. Highly recommend for your roofing needs. ”

Bellevue Roofing Questions
What Bellevue homeowners ask us before they book.
How far is your crew from Bellevue?
Not far. Our shop is at 500 Perry Highway, about 2.6 miles by car from the center of Bellevue, so we can usually look at a problem soon after you call. That matters most when water is already coming through a ceiling or a storm has torn shingles loose. If you have an active leak, start with our roof repair service and we will set up a visit.
What is a box gutter and why does mine leak?
A box gutter is a gutter built into the edge of the roof, usually lined with metal and hidden behind a trim board. They are common on older houses like many in Bellevue. Over time the lining cracks or the seams open, and water drips into the wall or the soffit instead of the downspout. Signs include peeling paint, stained trim and wet plaster under the eaves. We inspect and repair them through our roof repair service.
Can a silicone coating fix my box gutters?
Often, yes, if the wood under the lining is still sound. We clean the gutter, repair weak spots and apply a silicone coating that forms a seamless, waterproof lining. That is what we did on a Bellevue house in May 2026 alongside its new Atlas roof. If the wood is rotted, it gets replaced first. Read about the material on our silicone roofing page.
What affects the cost of a new roof on an older Bellevue house?
The size and steepness of the roof, how many old layers come off, how much decking is soft, and the number of dormers, valleys and chimneys all matter. Box gutters add work when they need repair or coating, and the shingle line you choose plays a part. We inspect the roof and give you a free written estimate with every item spelled out. To spread payments out, see our financing options.
Which shingle colors have Bellevue owners picked?
Our two Bellevue roofs went in two directions. The 2026 house chose Atlas Black Shadow, a dark color that looks sharp against yellow brick, and the 2025 house chose Burnt Hickory, a warm brown blend. We bring samples to the estimate so you can hold them up to your own brick and trim. Compare the options on our asphalt shingle page.
How often should a Bellevue roof be replaced?
It depends on the material and how well the roof was built. An asphalt roof usually lasts a couple of decades, and slate can last far longer when the flashing is kept up. Curling, missing granules, repeated leaks and soft spots are signs it is time to look. We wrote more in how often should homeowners in Bellevue replace their roof, and an inspection gives you a plain answer.
Do you work on slate roofs in Bellevue?
Yes. Some older Bellevue homes still have slate, and our repair crew handles slate as well as shingle and flat roofs. Often a slate roof needs new flashing or a few replaced slates rather than a full tear off. If the slate is at the end of its life, we can talk through replacing it with Atlas shingles. See our slate roofing page for more on the material.
Do you inspect roofs before buying or selling a Bellevue home?
Yes. With so many houses over 100 years old, a roof and gutter question can come up in any sale. Our free inspection covers the shingles, flashing at chimneys and walls, valleys, box gutters, pipe boots and attic ventilation, and we look inside for old leak stains. You get photos and a plain answer on whether the roof needs repair, replacement or nothing at all. Book a free roof inspection.
