A Roofing Company That Understands Gutters
Malick Brothers Exteriors is a family owned roofing and exterior company, born and raised in West View and based at 500 Perry Highway. Gutters are part of how a roof sheds water, so we look at them the way a roofer does: where the water comes from, how much of it there is, and where it needs to go.
Your job is run by our own team, from the first visit with Ryan or Brandon to the crew that hangs the gutters. We clean up when we are done and walk the finished work with you.

Gutter Repair or New Gutters?
A single leaking corner, a loose hanger or a downspout knocked loose by the wind can usually be repaired. When gutters leak at many seams, sag along whole runs, are rusted through or were never big enough for the roof, new gutters are the better fix.
We also check the fascia behind the gutter. If the wood is soft, new gutters will not stay put, so we fix the fascia first. Our free estimate covers both and comes with photos of what we found.

Signs Your Gutters Need to Be Replaced
Take a look at your gutters during the next heavy rain. These are the signs we look for:
- Water spilling over the front or behind the gutter
- Gutters sagging or pulling away from the house
- Leaks and drips at seams and corners
- Rust, cracks or holes along the runs
- Peeling paint or rot on the fascia boards
- Water pooling near the foundation or a wet basement
- Washed out mulch or soil below the roof edge

Why Gutters Matter More in Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh gets plenty of rain and snow, and many homes sit on hillsides where runoff heads straight for the foundation. Heavy summer storms overwhelm gutters that are too small or packed with leaves from the trees that line so many neighborhoods. In winter, snow melts during the day and refreezes in the gutters at night, adding weight that pulls weak hangers loose.
Older homes in the city often have built in box gutters tucked into the roof edge, or downspouts that empty right next to the foundation. In Bellevue we sealed a home's leaking box gutters with a silicone coating. We look at how water moves around your whole house and place downspouts so it drains away from the walls.

Gutters and Downspouts We Install
Most Pittsburgh homes are well served by seamless aluminum gutters.
Seamless Aluminum
We install 5 inch and 6 inch seamless K style gutters, cut to the length of each run so the straight sections have no joints to leak. Colors include white, black and almond.
Box Gutter Restoration
Many older Pittsburgh homes have box gutters built into the roof edge. Instead of tearing them out, we can restore them with a silicone coating, like the box gutters we coated on a Bellevue home this spring.
Downspouts and Drainage
The right number of downspouts, in the right places, keeps gutters from overflowing and moves water away from your foundation and walkways.

What Every Malick Brothers Gutter Install Includes
Gutters fail at the details: the fascia, the hangers, the slope and where the water ends up. Every install covers them.
Fascia Checked First
Soft or rotted boards are replaced so the gutters have solid backing.
Sized for Your Roof
Gutter and downspout size matched to the roof area that drains into them.
Proper Slope
Every run slopes toward a downspout so water does not sit and freeze.
Downspouts That Drain Away
Downspouts placed and directed to move water away from the foundation.
What Affects the Cost of New Gutters?
Every house drains differently, so we price gutters after we measure your roof edge in person instead of guessing over the phone. These are the factors that move the number most:
- Total length of gutter around the house
- Material and gutter size you choose
- Number of downspouts, corners and end caps
- Removal and disposal of the old gutters
- Fascia repairs needed before installation
- Height of the home and access on hillside lots
Your written estimate lists each item, so there are no surprises. For more detail, read whether 5 inch or 6 inch gutters are better for your house. Pairing new gutters with new siding? We can match colors across the whole exterior.
Protected Before, During and After Your Install
Every gutter system we install is covered by our labor warranty on the workmanship, plus the manufacturer warranty on the materials. We explain exactly what is covered in your estimate.
Wind, hail and fallen limbs can crush or tear gutters off the house. If a storm damaged yours, your homeowners insurance may cover part or all of the replacement. We document the damage with photos and a detailed report and work with your adjuster. Want to spread out the cost? We offer flexible financing through a trusted regional lender.

Gutter Installation Questions
Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask us most about new gutters.
How much does gutter installation cost in Pittsburgh?
Cost depends on the total length of gutter, the material and size, the number of downspouts and corners, removal of the old gutters, any fascia repair and the height of your home. Your free written estimate lists every item.
How long does gutter installation take?
New gutters are one of the quicker exterior projects. The timeline depends on the length of the runs, the number of downspouts and whether any fascia needs replacing first.
What are seamless gutters?
Seamless gutters are made in one continuous piece for each run of the house, instead of short sections joined together. With joints only at the corners and downspouts, there are far fewer places for leaks to start.
What gutter materials do you install?
We install seamless aluminum K style gutters in 5 inch and 6 inch sizes. Aluminum is the most common choice for Pittsburgh homes.
What size gutters do I need?
We install both 5 inch and 6 inch seamless K style gutters and size them to the roof area and pitch that drain into them. Larger or steeper roofs often need 6 inch gutters or more downspouts. Our guide on 5 inch vs 6 inch gutters explains the difference.
Do you repair gutters or only install new ones?
We handle both. Loose hangers, leaking corners and damaged downspouts can often be repaired. If the gutters are failing along whole runs, we explain why new gutters make more sense.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
At least twice a year, or more often under heavy tree cover. Clogged gutters overflow, rot the fascia and freeze solid in winter.
Should I replace my gutters when I get a new roof?
It is often a good time. Gutters usually come down during a roof replacement anyway, and installing new ones at the same time lets us fix the fascia and finish the whole roof edge at once.
Does insurance cover gutter damage?
If your gutters were damaged by a covered event such as wind, hail or a fallen limb, insurance may cover the repair or replacement. We document the damage and work with your adjuster.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Malick Brothers Exteriors is fully licensed (PA HIC# PA174918) and carries comprehensive insurance that protects our crew and your property.
