How much does a new roof cost in Pittsburgh?
Cost depends on the size and pitch of your roof, the material, how many layers come off and whether any decking needs to be replaced. We give you an exact written price after a free inspection instead of guessing over the phone.
Should I repair or replace my roof?
If the damage is limited to one area and the rest of the roof is sound, a repair usually makes sense. If leaks keep coming back, damage is spread across the roof or the shingles are worn out from age, replacement is the better investment. We show you photos and give you an honest answer.
What is the 25% rule?
It is a code rule in some states, best known in Florida, that requires a full section to be replaced when more than 25% of a roof is damaged. Pennsylvania has no statewide 25% rule, but insurance policies differ, so we explain your options during the inspection.
Will homeowners insurance pay for a new roof?
If a covered event like wind, hail or a falling tree damaged your roof, insurance may pay for part or all of the repair or replacement. Wear from age is usually not covered. We document the damage and work with your adjuster.
How long does a residential roof replacement take?
Many homes are finished in one day. Larger or steeper roofs, or roofs that need a lot of decking replaced, can take a few days. Your estimate includes the expected timeline.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
Our labor warranty covers the workmanship and the manufacturer warranty covers the materials. Complete Atlas roof systems can qualify for Atlas's 50 year warranty.
Do you repair slate roofs?
Yes. Our repair division handles slate, tile, flat and shingle roofs, plus the box gutters common on older Pittsburgh homes.
Do you install metal roofs?
Yes. We install metal roofing along with asphalt shingles, slate and wood shakes. During your estimate we compare metal and shingles honestly for your home and budget.
