Roofing in Shaler Township, PA and Glenshaw
When people around here search for roofing in Shaler Township, PA, they often type Glenshaw instead, and that makes sense. Glenshaw, with the 15116 ZIP code, sits mostly inside Shaler Township, and so does part of Allison Park. Shaler is a township in Allegheny County served by the Shaler Area School District, and it grew into one of the first modern suburbs in the North Hills after the Second World War. Most of the Shaler jobs we have posted carry a Glenshaw caption, so this page covers both names.
Malick Brothers Exteriors is a family owned roofer at 500 Perry Highway. By road we're about 5 miles from the middle of Glenshaw and about 6 miles from the center of the township. Our posted work here goes back to a Burnt Chestnut roof in February 2023 and runs through a commercial roof in Glenshaw in June 2026. Every job starts the same way, with a free inspection and an estimate in writing.

Roofer Services in Shaler Township, PA
These are the jobs Shaler and Glenshaw owners ask us about most, from a single flashing leak to a full roof and new gutters.
Roofs We Finished in Shaler and Glenshaw
Real jobs from our own project posts, newest first, with the products and colors named in each caption. We also worked on a commercial roof in Glenshaw in June 2026; that post isn't shown here because we don't have its photos on file.
New roof and gutters in Atlas Coastal Granite
A brick home with a front dormer, a tall chimney and several hips, finished with Atlas shingles, underlayment and ventilation in Coastal Granite, a cool gray blend. New gutters went on as part of the same job, so the drip edge and the gutter line were set together.
Atlas Pinnacle Pristine Pewter with MuleHide EPDM
A two story colonial with an attached low slope section beside the main roof. The pitched roof got Atlas Pinnacle Pristine shingles in Pewter, and the low slope part got a MuleHide EPDM rubber system, because shingles need pitch to shed water. The caption notes the Atlas 50 year warranty that comes with our Platinum certification.
What Shaler Township Roofs Need
Because so much of Shaler was built out after the war, many roofs here sit on brick homes with dormers and chimneys, colonials with an attached low slope section, and houses on hillside lots under mature trees. Those are exactly the houses in our Glenshaw photos. Permit rules come from the township, so we confirm what Shaler requires at the estimate.
Chimneys and dormers
Brick homes like our September 2025 Glenshaw job have a chimney and a dormer breaking the roof. We replace step and counter flashing at those spots instead of sealing over the old metal, since that's where most older roofs leak.
Low slope sections
Garages, porches and additions on colonials often have a roof too flat for shingles. On the May 2025 Glenshaw job we used a MuleHide EPDM system there and tied it into the shingle roof.
Gutters with the roof
Replacing gutters when the roof comes off lets us set drip edge and gutter height together. Leaves from big yard trees are one more reason to size gutters and downspouts with care.
Hills and driveways
Sloped yards and narrow driveways are common here. We plan where the dumpster and materials go before the crew arrives, tarp beds and walls, and run a magnet over the yard when we finish.
What Homeowners Say About Roofs and Gutters
Google reviews, copied word for word.
“ Greatly pleased with our new roof and gutters/downspouts. Malick Brothers was highly accommodating around our schedule and had excellent communication. The company truly prioritizes customer satisfaction and quality. I would definitely recommend to family and friends. ”
Tyler Stenger
“ This is a great roofing company. They have wonderful customer service and know what they're doing. Clint and Branden are respectful and polite. I had a large rubber roof installed and their price was very competitive. The work looks great. Through Company Cam I was able to get pictures throughout the process, even from a drone. Their scheduling was exactly what you’d want. ”
Paul DeMarco
“ Fast, efficient and reliable service. Removed old roof, installed new roof and gutters in a day and a half. Replaced some rotten boards before installing the new roof that I was unaware of. ”

Shaler Township Roofing Questions
Questions Shaler and Glenshaw homeowners ask us before a roof, repair or gutter job.
Is Glenshaw part of Shaler Township?
Mostly, yes. Glenshaw isn't a separate municipality. It's a community with its own post office and the 15116 ZIP code, and most of it lies inside Shaler Township, which also holds part of Allison Park. That means Shaler Township handles your permits whichever name is on your mail. We work across the whole township. See every place we cover on our service areas page.
Have you done roofs in Glenshaw and Shaler?
Yes. Our posts show an Atlas Burnt Chestnut roof in Shaler Township in February 2023, an Atlas Pinnacle Pristine Pewter roof with MuleHide EPDM in Glenshaw in May 2025, a new roof and gutters in Atlas Coastal Granite in Glenshaw in September 2025, and a commercial roof in Glenshaw in June 2026. Read how a full job runs on our roof replacement page.
What affects the cost of a new roof in Shaler?
The roof size and pitch, the number of dormers, chimneys and valleys, the shingle line, how much rotted decking turns up under the old layers, and any low slope sections that need rubber all play a part. Access on a hillside lot matters too, and so does adding gutters. We give a free written estimate after an inspection. See our guide to new roof cost in Pittsburgh and our financing options.
My house has a flat roof over the garage. Can you do both roofs?
Yes. That's what we did on the May 2025 Glenshaw job: Atlas shingles on the main roof and a MuleHide EPDM system on the low slope part. Shingles leak on roofs that are too flat, so a membrane is the right choice there, and the joint between the two needs careful flashing. Learn more about EPDM rubber roofing and rubber roofing for low slope homes.
Should I replace my gutters when I replace my roof?
Often it makes sense, as on the September 2025 Glenshaw job. With the old roof off, we can set the drip edge and the new gutters together so water lands where it should. If your gutters are in good shape, we can protect them and keep them. Our articles on gutters during a roof replacement and our gutter services explain the choices.
Do you work on commercial roofs in Shaler Township?
Yes. In June 2026 we worked on a commercial roof in Glenshaw. Small business buildings, offices and churches usually have low slope roofs, so the work is mostly membrane systems such as EPDM, TPO and coatings rather than shingles. We start with an inspection and a written scope. See our commercial roof repair and commercial roof replacement pages.
How do I pick a shingle color for a brick home?
Start with what stays: the brick, the trim and the stone. Our Shaler customers have chosen Coastal Granite and Pewter, both grays that sit well with red brick, and Burnt Chestnut, a warm brown. We can bring samples and show photos of finished roofs in each color. Our guides to Atlas Pinnacle Pristine colors and asphalt shingles can help you narrow it down.
My roof isn't leaking. Do I still need a new one?
Not always. Curling or missing shingles, granules in the gutters, soft spots and daylight in the attic are signs a roof is near the end even without a drip inside. Our 2023 Shaler before photo showed worn shingles with loose pieces on the surface. A free inspection with drone photos will tell you where yours stands. Read should I replace my roof if it isn't leaking or book a free roof inspection.
