Roof built over a raised deck, Cranberry Township
The homeowners wanted a permanent roof over a raised deck on the back of their two story house. We framed it on posts set at the deck rail, tied it into the house wall below the second floor windows, shingled it to match the main roof and added a gutter along the front edge. Underneath we finished the ceiling in white panels with recessed lights and a ceiling fan, so the deck now works rain or shine.

What Cranberry Township Roofs Need
Most of Cranberry's homes went up during the township's long growth spurt after I 79 opened in 1966 and I 279 followed in 1989. That means a lot of two story vinyl sided houses with architectural shingles, attached garages, rear decks and roofs that were installed by the builder all at once. Undersized gutters overflow on big roof planes, and blocked soffit vents trap heat in the attic. We size gutters to the roof and open up intake so the shingles last.

Why does my newer roof leak where the garage meets the house?
That joint usually has a valley or a run of step flashing against siding, and both are common leak points when the flashing was short, missing a kickout or sealed only with caulk. Should I replace gutters when I replace the roof?
If your gutters are original, undersized or pulling away, doing them with the roof lets us set the drip edge and gutters to work together and saves a second setup. Large roof planes on Cranberry homes often send more water than a 5 inch gutter can carry. We installed new gutters with the Mars roof in August 2026. What should I do after wind or hail damages my roof?
Call us for an inspection with photos before you talk to your insurance company, so you know what is actually damaged. If water is getting in, we can tarp the roof to protect the inside of the house.
